Chief of Staff, Bob Woods


bobBob Woods is the Chief of Staff for the mayor's office. His duties include supporting the mayor and his staff in all capacities,  including strategic planning, governmental affairs and economic development.

Bob received his finance degree from Troy University and his MBA from Samford University. He worked for Alabama Power for 40 years in construction, human resources, marketing, governmental affairs and in the customer service organization. He spent his last two years before retirement as a lobbyist for APCO in Washington, D.C.

He was instrumental in developing the "Go Build Alabama" program, an Alabama Workforce Development Initiative, and served as its Executive Director. After retiring from APCO, he founded and served as the CEO of the "Go Build America" program, implementing it in several states across the nation.

Besides his duties at City Hall, Bob also serves as the chairman of the Clanton Planning and Zoning commission and is on the Economic Development Committee.
