Beautification Committee

The Committee promotes enhancing the visual beauty, preserving the historical values, and being environmental steward of our community for the good of all local residents and businesses. The Clanton Beautification Committee plans and executes programs and awards that educate, encourage and support local residents and businesses in the continued beautification of our city.

Awards

  • Historical Award: Will be awarded to a Historical Society designee on February 9. This will be for a home or business.
  • District Beautification Awards: Judging will occur in April with awards being given in May. There will be five winners, one from each district. Five winners will be notified and receive a sign and a holder to put in their yard or business front. The winner will keep the holder for six months, and then the board will come and pick up the holders but the winners will keep their signs to commemorate their win.

Clanton Clean-Up Week

Typically scheduled in June of each year, this event encourages people to tend to their yards and move junk to the curb for the city pick up. The City of Clanton provides orange trash bags for residents to pick up at City Hall. We encourage you to follow regular ordinance guidelines on materials that will be disposed of.

Items not collected will include the following: tires, trees over 10 inches in diameter, paint, hazardous material such as medical waste, propane gas tanks or cylinders.
