Mary Mell Smith- Serving as District 5 council member Since 2001.

Welcome to Clanton, and welcome to our website. I represent the people in Clanton’s District 5, and have been a council member for 20 years. I am a certified as well as an advanced municipal official, and have achieved the status of certified municipal official emeritus through many hours of training on subjects pertaining to the operation of municipalities.

I love the city of Clanton, was born and raised here as was my family. I have seen many changes in my tenure as council member, and I am excited about the changes that will come in the future. It is my goal to develop strong relationships with the mayor and my fellow council members to further the goals set forth before us and better the city for us all.
