Welcome to the Sanitation Department

The City of Clanton's sanitation supervisor is Dale Collins, who has served the department for many years. The department picks up household garbage as well as commercial dumpsters for our local businesses.  Also included with the garbage pick up is rubbish that the City offers it's residents as a courtesy to help keep our city beautiful.  Items that are included with rubbish pick up are mattresses, furniture, appliances and other items that are too big to go in a cart or dumpster.  This department also investigates illegal dumpsites within the city limits.

The Sanitation Department is also responsible for mowing and maintaining the right of ways in the city limits.  We also fix the traffic lights, street signs, put out the flags for the different holidays, as well as putting up the Christmas lights each year.  We spray for mosquitoes each summer to help control the mosquito population and we are also responsible for sweeping the streets of Clanton to keep our streets looking good.  

If you would like to help keep Clanton beautiful, you may pick up extra garbage bags at the city sanitation shop Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and let us know where you will be cleaning, and we will pick the bags up for you.
