Senior Center
The Clanton Senior center is a program that is provided to the senior citizens of Chilton County by the city of Clanton and the Middle Alabama Program on Aging. The program is run by manager Carolyn Thomas, assistant manager Barbara McMillian and center aide Denise Scott.
The program provides meals on wheels to over 240 homebound senior citizens within the city limits of Clanton, and over 40 members that come to the center daily.
These meals are brought into the center fresh and hot on a daily basis by GA food out of Montgomery. The staff cooks and packs meals and distributes them out into four different routes, then volunteers from different churches throughout Chilton County deliver these meals to each of the homebound seniors along with snacks and drinks. The senior center host activities such as bingo card games, puzzles and other activities.
If you are interested in the senior program for yourself or a family member who lives in our area, please feel free to come by 500 Enterprise Rd., Clanton or call us at 205-755-3248. We are open Monday through Friday 7 AM until 3 PM. Due to the pandemic, we are not having socializing or serving meals inside the building, but anyone who needs a meal is encouraged to stop by and pick up lunch Monday through Friday from 10 AM until noon, masks are required and your temperature will be taken at the door.
We always enjoy donations from the community of snacks, games, puzzles, movies, music or other entertainment for our members. Thank you for supporting our efforts to feed and help the senior citizens of our community.
